Mill Point Park Dredge Soundings
This is scheduled to begin April 20th. John did soundings with the dredge operator this week and confirmed there is only 1.5 to2 feet of water for the channel that needs dredging.

Skateboard News
I am working with Chapter 11 to move the ramps to another location in the Village out of Downtown. In the meantime, some skateboarders are enjoying the use of the In Line Skate Rink and are coordinating the hours with in-line hockey games through mutual courtesy.

Marina Bay Plan
A total of 48 units will be on the Planning Commission agenda for April 27th where the former six-story building and commercial area was planned. Not every unit would have a dock. The public boardwalk remains in the plan. They are preparing is as a planned development to come to the Planning Commission as soon as possible.

Lake Avenue Reconstruction
Signs are going up this week. The Police Department will be keeping an eye on the Hammond and South Street intersection and the Prospect and Exchange Street intersection.

Village of Spring Lake/City of Ferrysburg School Presence
Chief DeYoung and new Detective/School Liaison Officer Theune met with school officials in Ferrysburg and Spring Lake this week. They will be working closely with staff and students to fashion some regular programs for the Fall.

Village Hall Refinements
We decided this week to get a price on a water line extension in the two conference rooms to service a coffee maker in each. An interior sign for the emergency red phone is being added also. A new concrete surface is needed in the rear to improve the irrigated planter area. We are asking for a price to include tinted concrete and a "stamp" design to emulate the brick pavers at the front of the building.

Budget Balanced:
The detail is in your packet. A $3,000 surplus at the end of FY05 was forecast. Like all best laid plans, personal property estimated revenue now appears slightly high however. The impact will be to take the $3,000 surplus balance for FY 05 and drop it to a wash.still a balanced budget.

Eagle Scout Project to Benefit Renovated Village Hall:
An Eagle Scout candidate from the Nunica Club is working with me to complete his badge by handling collection of historical items and display of the Village Hall showcase.

Village Benefits from Scout Troop Clean up:
Dough Boone's troop composed of first through fifth graders is doing a litter clean-up of trails and parks on Monday night from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

Girl Scout Troop Starts Adopt a Park at Mill Point:
This Saturday Ms. Vetters troop will be cleaning up Mill Point Park and will keep it picked up throughout the summer as their special community contribution. This is coming in especially handy given the Thursdays at the Point concert series and re-opened boat launch planned.

Spring Trash Collection: This program is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5th.

Spring Brush Collection: Starts Monday, May 17th.
