Re: Council Information Letter
East Village Punch List: The plantings are going in today. The grass, ivy and planters, plus some touch up brick are all that is left.
Lakeside Beach Water Quality Remains Great: There were only 20 parts of e-coli on the most recent tests conducted by the Health Department. Only Pottawatomie Park tests out better at 10 parts per 100 ml of e-coli.
Wayfinding Signs to Go Up Next Week: I will bring a mock up of them to the Village Council meeting. They will start to be installed on Tuesday.
Sign for Pedestrians in Crosswalk on Lake Avenue at Savidge: This sign is now installed.
Maple Terrace Resurfacing/Reconstruction Meeting: The residents want to sit down with me and discuss their ideas. A tentative evening of August 8th is being discussed.
Tree Damage on Pick-Up Truck: The high winds on Tuesday morning resulted in a damaged truck at Mason and Park. We are glad that no more limbs of significance did any damage elsewhere. We think the aggressive trimming of recent years has helped.
Alden Place To Connect to Lakeside Trail: As part of the Planned Development Agreement, Norm is preparing to connect an asphalt path extending east and also west to Lakeside Trail. We marked trees this week that should be avoided and remain standing. Up to six others will need to come out. Some of the brush will be removed by SWAP crews along both sides of the path. The brush removal will be enough to appear kept up, but will not too much to appear radically altered. This clean up occurs every couple of years.
Two Peddlers Seek Permits: I am checking references. Both came up fine in the Police Department’s review. One if for ice cream and the other is for magazines. If references are good and there is a local number where we can reach them in the event of a complaint, the permits will be issued.
