Spring Lake Village Historical Conservation Committee

Date: Tuesday 9/21/2004

Place: Village Hall EOC room

Present: Shannon McMaster (co-chair), Pat Reeg (co-chair), William Bissell (secretary), Karyn Streeting

Absent:
Sandy Parker, Sara Rathbun, Stella Burns

Guests:
Mark Miller

Old Business:
1. SLVHCC Membership - Sandy to confirm active membership with Stella. Sara intends to resign due to time constraints
2. Boat Show update - Pat reported that all invoices have been paid and the profit from the event is about $500. We will begin plans for next years event, with the securing of the date and place being the first step. A subcommittee meeting will be set up.
3. Demolition - St.Mary's has demolished a house on Savidge Street. Sandy and Pat had toured the house and found it not to be historically or architecturally significant.
4. SLV Downtown Master Plan - The Village Council has approved the Downtown Master Plan.

New Business:
1. New Development update - West End development in progress for a condo project. Initial construction is for the riverfront boardwalk. The Anderson-Bolling project by Central Park is under consideration.
2. Historical Properties Development - Karyn will contact Mr. Beebe in regards to restoring the Savidge Street mansions into a condominium development.
3. Tri-Cities Museum Millage - Bill to confirm if the Tri-Cities Historical Museum is seeking another millage bid. Bill will also confirm if the SLVHCC can endorse this bid as a group.
4. Web Site - Bill or Pat to check on having the SLVHCC page on the Village web site updated more frequently
5. Goals 2004/2005 - Everyone is encouraged to submit goal ideas for the upcoming year.
6. Save the Whales?
