MEDC Formally Approves Grant:
The grant for $591,000 was approved this week. The Chamber is helping out with the paperwork.

Acting Village Manager:
While I am at the MML conference on Thursday until Saturday afternoon, Roger DeYoung will be Acting Manager. You can still reach me at 616-638-8910.

Sandwich Boards Becomes an Issue:
We recently received some complaints about the number of impromptu signs and the need for more regulation/enforcement. I talked with John about it and will take up with the CBDDA at our next meeting also. Let me know if you have any thoughts.

Ottawa County Comes Here on October 4th:
I received word today that their wireless committee wants input from the municipalities. All of you are invited to attend a meeting set for Village Hall at 3:15 PM.

Lakeside Trail Grant Response is Out:
We put up a good fight. The competition is numerous and our location is not glamorous. We will see.

Halloween Is On Sunday This Year:
The date for Trick of Treat is going to be moved to Saturday night as a result. All other surrounding communities are doing the same. FYI if you get questions. Maribeth had a good suggestion that we should post it on the Village Sign.

Bike Path, Whistle Stop Playground and Connector Path Addressed During the Day of Caring:
Twelve staff members of Grand Haven Township, City of Grand Haven and City of Ferrysburg joined Chief DeYoung, Lori and me cleaning up the Tri-Cities Connector Path this morning. A total of 24 person-hours make a big difference.

At the same time, John was coordinating a group of ten volunteers at the playground and Barber School to paint play equipment and the doors. These are items we were not otherwise not getting done before winter.

We will be doing Flowers to the Editor in appreciation.

Village Streets Get Six Ton of Hot Mix Asphalt:
We hit the local streets hard this year. This patching will get us through the winter until we can reconstruct them, according to the schedule discussed Monday night.

Finial Is Installed:
The building feels more complete as a result. Check it out.

Lockers Are In:
SWAP will move them in on Monday to save costs.

***Upcoming Meetings***
