The Village of Spring Lake has adopted the Council/Manager form of government. Under this form of government, the Village Manager acts as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village, appointed by the Village Council. The Manager is responsible for directing the administration of the Village government. The Manager’s Office coordinates the activities of all Village departments.
The Manager appoints all department heads, with the exception of the Village Clerk/Treasurer. The Manager is responsible for the preparation and administration of the annual budget and the long-range capital improvement program, implementing the policies adopted by the Village Council, and managing the Village’s human resources activities. The Manager’s Office prepares the Village Council agenda and is responsible for providing information to the public.
