The Village of Spring Lake adopted a new Master Plan in 2006. The Master Plan is a document intended to guide future development in the community. The Plan looks out as far as 20 years, and is reviewed and revised as needed every five years. The Master Plan considers all aspects of the Village from neighborhoods and schools to transportation and utilities. It includes reference materials including maps of the Village and surrounding communities. Land use and development in surrounding communities is also studied when developing the Master Plan so that the Village can coordinate its development with surrounding area.

Master Plan

The Zoning Ordinance is the document that contains the actual rules and guidelines for development and construction in the Village. It covers everything from single-family homes to large scale commercial developments. The Zoning Ordinance includes requirements for size, location and design of buildings, signs, parking, landscaping and many other things which help keep the feel, character and sense of place found in the Village of Spring Lake.

Vacancies

The Village of Spring Lake Zoning Board of Appeals regular meeting time is the 2^nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM.  The meetings are held at the Barber School, 102 W. Exchange Street, and are open to the public.  The Zoning Board of Appeals typically does not meet if no applications have been received.
