Re: Council Information Letter

.
LakePointe CDBG Grant Is Closed Out: The final accounting for this project was accepted this week by the MEDC. Much appreciation to Maribeth and Maryann for keeping such good records that made it easier.

Tree Damage and Insurance: Given the reckless driving charges, we will still submit the claim for tree replacement to the driver to cover.

School Street Extension Easement Is Off the Agenda: The appraiser remains unsure as to the easement’s value. Rather than have this appear on the agenda with a large unknown, it is postponed to the next agenda. More to follow…

CBDDA Members Advertised: We have several slots more we can fill. Up to twelve slots are available. Now that they are becoming more active, this will be on the next agenda for you to consider reappointments and any new applications that arise.

Leaf Collection Truck Advertised: This device will be placed on a pre-owned truck according to our bid advertisement. The idea is to save about $35,000. This item will be on the Council agenda in April. This leaf collection technology has the potential to save about $20,000 per year in current operating costs.

Seasonal DPW Staff Needed: We are looking for hard working individuals who can help out from April 1 to November 30th. Feel free to spread the word.

Tanglefoot Park Subcommittee Schedules Another Meeting: This meeting is set for March 10, 2008 with the floating dock bidders. (Although this project will not be fundable this fiscal year, it is a good idea to decide on a design and the best bidder now.)

Ottawa County Association of Municipalities: Only six people came to this meeting. Discussions are underway to combine it with the existing Mayor’s group instead.

Channel 22 Public Access Channel User Fees: About ten surveys came back so far. Only one said they could not afford to cover their share of the user fee.
